Strengths: Sleek design, lightweight, interactive games, backward compatibility

Weaknesses: Poor sound, ok graphics, not all that great game library

Nintendo redid the original DS and came up with the smaller and lighter Nintendo DS Lite. With its rounded edges and two vertically tiered screens, the Nintendo DS Lite portable console is definitely sleek. The new backlit dual screens offer sharp and clear images. You can access the touch screen with stylus or your fingertip.

Using the PictoChat feature, you can write messages and send them wirelessly. Voice recognition is one of its best features. A built-in microphone port is available for voice control of games or for voice chat with other DS players. The console also comes with the Wi-Fi capabilities of the DS. It is also backwards compatible with Game Boy Advance (GBA) titles. There are four brightness levels that you can set according to your preference. Using it at a low brightness level will definitely help you extend the battery life. The Nintendo DS Lite portable console comes with its own proprietary cartridges.

While all this sounds great, the Nintendo DS Lite portable console has it downsides. The graphics are not all that great. When compared to the graphics powerhouse, the PSP, it definitely pales in comparison.
