Full Review
If you are in a hurry to get a smart phone device, the O2 Xda Atom Exec Smartphone may cater to your needs, but don’t expect this early model to be perfect. Unlike PDA phones (such as Blackberries), input into the device is not made simple with a keypad but is rather completed through a stylus input on the screen, a little difficult especially on the go. However, if you are looking for quick reference only, this is not a huge problem, and you will find the interface on the Xda Atom Exec to be quite user friendly.
The O2 Smartphone is lightweight and easy to carry around without being weighed down terribly, and the phone portion of the product is excellent. You’ll find that you receive excellent reception in most locations. When it comes to connectivity as well, the O2 Xda will not disappoint. While lacking 3G functionality, you do have wireless LAN access with high speed capabilities and can perform any activities quickly with an 11Mb/sec download speed at any WLAN hotspot.
Best of all, Microsoft Outlook Mobile with Direct to Push technology has been incorporated into the Xda Atom, so that you can send an email anywhere at any time and receive them anywhere due to Messaging and Security features. A 2.7” screen is highly visible and bright with color, and the 520Mhz processor allows you to use multiple applications at once, including Word, Excel, and other programs.
Aside from the means of input, the biggest downfall of the O2 Exec Smartphone is the camera. The 2.0 megapixel shooter is supposed to be high quality but without clear, bright light, a straight on shot, and a steady hand, your pictures won’t come out satisfactory. In almost every other aspect, the O2 is an excellent product.
The portability and light weight combined with the connectivity options, technology, aesthetic appearance, and the ease of use, make the O2 Xda Atom Exec Smartphone a great bargain for the price.
