The Navman F20 GPS device has its good and bad points, though overall, it provides an excellent low cost navigation system for first time users. You’ll find that the F20 is easy to use, with a simple user interface, a large touchscreen, and a nearest station points feature. While there are some problems with the unit, those who aren’t looking to empty their bank account in purchasing a navigation system may want to try this first.
The screen is a large 3.5-inch color display and offers touch screen interface for ease of use. The technology employed here is highly valuable, and with the simplicity of the device, even those who feel confused when staring at a computer screen can easily take control of the Navman GPS. Buttons are comfortable for dexterity, as well, and the unit itself is small and light enough to be easily portable.
The first problem you may find with the Navman F20 is that some areas of the database are not updated, and smaller streets or new additions and routes may not be included. This could make it difficult to find your way, if you are going to a newly developed area or down small streets. However, it is still much better than fiddling with a road map and is overall fairly accurate.
One great aspect of the F20 GPS device is that it supplies alerts to the nearest gas stations and parking areas. This can assist you in guaranteeing that you don’t run out of fuel or get lost on a side road after exiting a freeway for a gas station. However, if you are relying on vocalization of directions because you are driving alone and cannot look at the unit, you may be straining to hear because the Navman audible assistance is very quiet and may even be drowned out by road noise.
Overall a simple to use and fairly reliable unit, the Navman F20 GPS is a budgetary object to get you where you need to go.
