Full Review
The Palm TX PDA is a great addition to the Palm brand line of handheld devices. Start with the aesthetics of the unit, including a large screen display for easy viewing. With the ability to show more information on the screen and not have to read tiny print, Palm has made the unit quite easy to view. Next, take into account the available technology of the unit. As usual, other brands of PDA’s will pale in comparison.
The great thing about the new Palm TX is the available Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies that are integral to the unit. Now, you have web and email access almost anywhere – hotels, cafes, airports, and even some large business campuses, allowing you to truly stay connected away from the office. You’ll also have complete ability to store and use presentations, Word, Excel, photos, videos, and other file types to use on the go. The screen is brilliantly colored, so all of your graphics will be highly visible and pleasant.
Palm has also included some excellent personal additions to the new TX PDA that will keep you occupied even when you aren’t doing business. The unit offers the ability to listen to MP3 files and read eBooks, meaning that your down time can be spent in enjoyment. 128Mb of installed memory may not sound like a great deal of space but is plenty to carry around what you need, plus some extra entertainment material and is more than many competitive brands offer. A touch screen with keyboard touch pad is a simple user interface environment.
The battery on the PDA cannot be replaced, and while this might be the one negative aspect that Palm has yet to resolve on its units, the quick charge and long life of the battery make up for this oversight. The price of the TX is also quite reasonable, considering its many features. As it has in the past, Palm has blown the competition out of the water with its simple design, number of features and accommodating price.
