Full Review
With all the new and updated systems that arrive around Christmas every year, it always seems that one pulls ahead of the crowd. This time around, it was deservingly the Nintendo Wii Console (pronounced “wee”). Highly versatile, maintaining its own memory, and reestablishing activity in the lives of gamers, Nintendo took the cake with their latest offering. The most major upgrade from previous Nintendo systems that kicks it up a notch (or three or four) above the competition is an internal memory. 512 megabytes of flash memory mean that there is no more purchasing of separate memory cards to save games and information when it’s time to go to school or work. Store all your data internally and never worry about running out of space or losing your chip. The remote that comes with the Wii console also has some special memory capabilities. With many of the games, you can use a specially created character of your design to represent you, complete with all of your own statistics. That means you can carry your remote to a friend’s house and use your character to play his or her games. Buy more remotes for multiple users, or store information for several individuals on one remote. In the past, old consoles and games have become obsolete, but with the Nintendo Wii, you can use your GameCube controllers and memory cards to continue play. The unit accepts both single and double layer 12cm discs for Wii games and 8cm GameCube discs. Availability of internet access allows you to download upgrades, as well as classic Nintendo, SuperNintendo, and Nintendo64 games. Best of all, there are no more complaints about sedentary lifestyles derived from playing video games, as the sports game package that comes with the console if full of interactive games that require motion and aerobic activity. Other games are available in this style, as well. The Nintendo Wii Console is far ahead of the crowd in technology and appeal, as well as price, beating out competitor values by far.
