Strengths: Solid digital camera which is a pleasure to own

Weaknesses: Not meant for the amateur user

Pentax continues to give the big boys of the photographic world a run for their money and this is apparent with the new K10D which has features not common in Digital SLR camera (at least not all together in one camera). Build like a rock, the Pentax K10D is very solid and can work in any weather condition. This is one camera which not only has features which can take care of 99% of photographic requirements, but also live to last a lifetime ( are the other companies listening?).

With 10 mega pixel strength, the Pentax K10D manages to deliver high quality professional images and surpasses our expectations. The images are further enhanced by the image stabilization software which is very robust and manages to cut out a ‘shake’ very well. The output is typical ‘Pentax’ quality and that is indeed one of the best of what you can get. With such great features, one does wonder why the camera does not look a bit prettier too!

The Pentax K10D manages to cut down effects from dust and water with very effective sealing of the camera itself. There are many manual options available for the professional photographer which lets him/her get the most out of it. However, if you are an amateur photographer then it might take some getting used to the various functions of the camera which has a plethora of features to choose from. Do make sure that you need such as a high-end camera before going ahead and taking the plunge…or…paying the big bucks!
