Practical and functional…that is how the Sony Ericsson Z550i is positioned and it manages to impress on both these counts. The clamshell design is easy to use and offers a fairly well designed phone with minimum fuss when it comes to other features. The Z550i is also quite well designed and looks sturdy and solid thanks to the steel brushed case. The Z550i is a good performer and is likely to stand the test of time with its features.

The navigation system is what helps in making the phone a good bet…it is simple and intuitive and likely to change your mind when it comes to phones from Sony Ericsson. The Z550i is quite light and easy to handle which is achieved by not burdening the phone with unnecessary entertainment features. The price of the phone is also quite attractive and can be considered as an excellent communication tool.

Just as I mentioned earlier, the Z550i does not have any major music features and nor does it sport any features which provides entertainment on-the-go. What it does offer is simple phone features which helps ensure longer battery life as well. Do be careful when opening the phone as doing it too fast might result in it getting ‘stalled’ a bit. Other than that, the Z550i is well worth every penny and is also a good option as a second phone for the busy executive.
