Strengths: Good size and configuration, photo quality is neat

Weaknesses: Not meant for professional photographers and might be a bit too large for some people

Well, I am not a professional photographer but I did want good pictures of my vacations which I could share with family and friends. But I was not in favor of the slim point-and-shoot digital cameras which always made me feel like a teenybopper and I needed to find something which fitted in my budget as well as my 'technical' requirement. The S5800 came highly recommended from a friend and I set out to check it out at the store over the weekend.

The Fuji FinePix is the range to which the S5800 belongs and a few minutes of exploration made me think that this was a good name for the camera. It definitely made me look serious about my photography but had just the right amount of controls which I could learn on my first vacation with the camera without tearing my hair in frustration. The megapixel strength manages to give me very good photographs which are a pleasure to put on the mantelpiece.

The camera is definitely large in size and would need a separate case to carry and though it looks very professional, it is not meant for the professional photographer. After buying the Fuji FinePix S5800, I discovered that there were other cameras which suit my requirement as well and just needed a bit more market research. Overall, I am happy with the Fuji FinePix S5800 and think it is a good buy for the quality and price it offers!
