Strengths: Low power useage because it never runs. Excellent retailer and service agent support.

Weaknesses: First unit failed after 1 wash- would not power up, second unit failed after 2 months would not start the cycle. Both appear to be main board problems.

Don't buy one unless you have a backup machine.
I have not had the chance to evaluate wash performance yet as the machine has rarely been running. Also replaced a reliable "Smartdrive" which had seen many a year of fault free service. Obviously the aquasmart has a fundamental design fault which is causing it to fail so like others, I am glad I took out extended warranty. Maybe F&P's quest to cut cost by moving around the world like gypsies has been transferred into their product quality. A previously great name for quality and reliability has been destroyed by the quest for the mighty dollar. I will be very reluctant to purchase another F&P product and definitely will not be recommending to anyone.

Wish I had seen this before I brought a Fisher and Paykel 7.0kg Aquasmart. I too was replacing a faithful old F&P washer (17 years of service). Having purchased the new washing machine and paying for delivery and installation, the machine has not worked, not even one load. Can not say that I am happy with either the retailer "Harvey Norman" or Fisher and Paykel for taking an active interest in correcting the situation. How did F&Y get to a point that a $1000 washing machine can be delivered and installed faulty. I will no longer be recommending Fisher and Paykel products.
