Strengths: Good performance, portable and fairly good specs

Weaknesses: Needs Ubuntu to perform well, battery life a bit weak

Acer’s good configuration and an affordable price tag makes it a good Laptop to have and one which is designed to work quite well in most situations. Though not the latest, the overall configuration of the laptop makes it pretty current and value-for-money for the price it commands. The Acer Aspire One N270 is quite portable as well and though it is not as sleek as a Lenovo or Vaio, the overall styling does not make it look dull.

Like most Acer laptops, this one too is heavily reliant on Ubuntu and that is not something which I enjoy using. However, you need it if you are going to take advantage of this machine. The Acer Aspire One N270 also comes without a CD player which I feel is a major disadvantage since you do need that for audio/video entertainment and also for running software. With these two disadvantages, it is easy to understand why the laptop comes at such a reasonable price tag.

Battery life of the Acer Aspire One N270 is not something which is noteworthy and one can only imagine what it is like to keep running to charge the laptop. It is advised that you incur some extra expense and keep a spare battery though changing it is yet another headache! The Aspire One N270 includes all the trappings of a budget laptop and one which is likely to appeal to students. The laptop has the ability to take some rough moments quite well.
