The silver-black PIXMA range from Canon is a welcome break from the white HP printers and their sleek look is supported by the fact that the printers are very good and offer very good value for money. Since multifunctional printers are the order of the day, the MX850 gives users all the required features in one consolidated unit which is also quite large by the way. The MX850 is feature rich and offers users all the required functionality in a mid-range all-in-one.

What does not work very well with the MX850 is the fact that it has a fairly slow print speed even when used in economy mode. That obviously means that the MX850 cannot be used for bulk printing and you need to have patience when using the Canon MX850. The classical Canon PictBridge feature helps you line up printing jobs with ease and direct printing from memory cards is also a simple task with the MX850.

There are also no complaints with the Canon Pixma MX850 when it comes to the overall usability of the printer since the screen is backlit and buttons very easy to locate and use. I would recommend the MX850 for home use provided you have the space to house it. Though there is a paper tray which forms part of the frontal view of the printer, it is very neatly designed and easy to load and clear. Scan and fax both work fine and there are no unexpected sounds which you are likely to hear when using the MX850
