The PS2 gives good competition to the GameCube

Cool. That’s one of the best words to describe the Sony PlayStation 2 and this is not because of the nifty design of the unit but also due to the excellent user interface which the console boasts of. If you have already checked out the PSP, you will notice that the PS2 is in a different league all together. The huge library of games which are available to users is what spells success for the Sony PlayStation 2.

The ultra-slim console is barely noticeable when placed on the mantle and really good for areas which is already cluttered. Other than that, the simple usage of front loading trays and inbuilt network capabilities help in using the space around the PS2 more effectively. If you thought that PS2 could only be used to play games, you would be happy to know that you can get rid of your CD/DVD player since it also plays regular CDs.

The limitations of the unit might put you off a bit. The hard disk cannot be upgraded and this is a significant downside of the player. Apart from that, the graphics capability is also not as good as that of Xbox and that can be a real bummer when playing on the PS2 (especially if you have already used an Xbox before this!). However, the PS2 continues to remain a superior product when compared to the PSP and is quite reasonably priced as well.
