Strengths: Excellent battery life, large address book, good music and camera features (though basic)

Weaknesses: Looks a bit too funky, old-fashioned candy bar shaped phone

The ROKR EM30 from Motorola might look a bit cheesy to some thanks to its red edging which is really taking away the seriousness of the phone and it might look very smart to some of the younger buyers...it’s just the way you see it! Though the phone might not rock as a smart phone, but it does offer some very good value-for-money features such as an excellent talk time of up to six hours and all the features that users need such as a large phone book, easy to use keypad etc.

The ROKR EM30 comes with MP3 player as well as a radio and a fairly basic camera. What it does offer is Java games support and quad band features which make it attractive internationally. The ROKR EM30 is also built solidly to take on a few rough moments and that is when you start appreciating the design and style of the phone. Though the screen size is not very large, it does not reduce readability in any way.

I would recommend the ROKR EM30 to anyone who is looking for a basic phone with some of the fun features and is not looking for a very high price tag. However, if it is a work phone which you after, then the ROKR EM30 might not be a good fit and you would need to check the smarter phones which promise fast internet speeds and easy to access documents. The ROKR EM30 is designed to meet certain set of users and it does that very well! So, if you think the ROKR EM30 is for you...then happy ROKRING!
