Strengths: An almost perfect camera…what more can I say?
Weaknesses: Since I need to mention a few drawbacks….the flash speed is a minor issue and raw editor needs to be purchased!

Full Review
Nikon D80 is a digital SLR camera which seems to be made both for professionals as well as beginners. The range of features in the camera are enough to make a camera enthusiast drool with delight since it takes care of some of the major issues faced by photographers. The first point of comparison is the performance…which needless to say is quite fantastic. The images are clean, crisp and there is substantial reduction in the background noise as well.

The second comparison point might be overall features of the camera but for me it is the price since I am looking for value for money (pretty much like all shoppers every where). The D80 scores full marks on that front as well since the pricing is reasonable which makes it quite accessible to a number of users. As a digital SLR camera, the D80 has become my favorite and is likely to stay there for some time to come.

However, all electronic products are like human beings…which means that there are not perfect. The D80 also it’s set of issues but the saving grace is that they are likely to be discovered slowly as you use the camera and do not stick out like a sore thumb. The flash speed might be an issue for some users and you would need to shelve out some extra money to get the raw editor. Even with these drawbacks, the D80 feels almost perfect and it comes as no surprise that this number is a fast selling product from Nikon.
