Strengths: Very easy to use, this GPS system remains a favorite with newcomers and gadget geeks. Good product design and excellent very easy to use.

Weaknesses: Battery life can be an issue

Navman products are quite focused in delivering value to users and the N40i looks pretty much out of a science fiction movie with its NavPix technology as well as the good looking hardware interface. The N40i is mostly designed to suit the requirements of a driver and can be easily installed in the car. The hardware configuration of the unit is suitably adequate for the features provided in the box but it does not seem suitable for times when an upgrade might be sought.

Navman also manages to hit the right note when it comes to the pricing of this navigation unit. On the display aspect, the brightness of the display takes care of easy viewing at times when daylight might make it slightly difficult for viewing. You can also latch on a camera to the navigation system but the usage of this is limited to uploading your pictures. The N40i also takes care of the problem faced by stubby (no offense meant) fingers as the buttons are fairly large and placed well.

Though many users might consider the Navman N40i mostly for the car, but the size of it encourages users to use it otherwise as well. The Navman goes a step ahead in user-focus and offers web based support to users (however, be prepared to spend some time on this as it not all that easy as it sounds). The only major downside of the product has been its battery life and the fact that there is mixed opinion about it; it works well for some and dies out rally fast for some. Apart from this, there isn’t any major issue with this GPS unit and comes highly recommended for users.
