Yes...the LA40A650 is well worth a buy

Strengths: Good image quality, excellent size and display, black display is good and affordable price tag

Weaknesses: Images appear very sharp sometime, tough competition

Buying a good featured, reasonably priced 40 inch LCD television is challenging in the best of times and the Samsung LA40A650 more than fills the gap. I expected the television to look a bit old fashioned but was pleasantly surprised at the contemporary design that it offered and the elegant look and feel of the exterior which gelled really well with my living room. Apart from a smart looking frame, the quality of the Samsung LA40A650 is also worth mentioning.

The picture quality is fine as is the black display (which was a real problem with some of the other televisions we checked out at the store). What is a bit disturbing is the extra sharpness of the images but you tend to get used it over a period of time (and start finding other televisions are not so sharp....so I guess it is fine). Other than that, the Samsung LA40A650 gives you more than 2 HDMI ports where you can hook up a wide range of peripherals.

Lastly, the Samsung LA40A650 also offers an attractive price tag which really encourages you to buy the television and it really gives you the money’s worth. I would recommend the Samsung LA40A650 anyone looking for this size television but not willing to spend too much on it. Though you might feel that it is not as good as the Sony Bravia of the same size (specially the blacks in SOME places), it is an excellent product for the pricing and that is something you cannot ignore.
