Small is beautiful! The ASUS EEEPC901 is cute and functional

Strengths: Good processing power, excellent battery life

Weaknesses: Keypad is too compact

I never thought I would like an ASUS laptop...call it brand snobbishness if you like but I always considered the Sony Vaio as the most feasible compact laptop around. However, the EEEPC901 has changed my mind and how! This pearly white laptop might be small (very suitable for places which need high end computing but there is a limitation of space) but it packs in a wide range of some very solid features, making it the talk of the town.

The EEEPC901 comes with an 8GB hard disk, not back for the tiny size that it has and the processor power is at a respectable 1.6 GHz. Other than that, what really impressed me is the size and the look and feel which is contemporary and helps make the laptop stand out in a toy shelf. The battery life of the ASUS is equally impressive with 8 hours back up time and that makes ASUS EEEPC901 an excellent buy for someone who is always on the road.

The keypad of course is limiting in size so don’t expect the same comfort level as a larger laptop but it is not bad at all. What is also attractive is the fractional price of a regular laptop so if you don’t mind having a little less memory but a laptop which is really compact, then go ahead with the EEEPC901. You can be sure that people are going to stop by and take a look at it and all those carrying the likes of Toshiba L300 are likely to turn green with envy!
