Strengths: Excellent printing and scanning qualities with a very good body to boot

Weaknesses: Price is a bit high and it takes some time to learn all the functions of the printer

The name of the printer speaks volumes on what it promises to do. The HP Photosmart 3110 is meant for printing high quality images by way of photos and the ‘dashboard’ of the printer looks straight out of a car with the large number of buttons and the sharp display of LCD screen. To be honest, I found that a bit daunting and had to thumb through the manual quite a few times to figure out the functions of the printer.

However, once I got the hang of the features of the HP Photosmart 3110, I was suitably impressed with the output and all that this printer could do. The Photosmart can easily be networked and the printing features were excellent. The printer looked quite good as well thanks to its silver and dark grey body and it definitely is a pleasant change from my earlier Canon which was all white and tended to look run-down over a period of time.

The only consumer hang-up with the HP Photosmart 3110 is the price the printer commands. This is one factor which might discourage home users to pick up this printer and thus the HP Photosmart 3110 is destined to be part of the office equipment brigade only. the scanner is one of the best that I have seen in this range of printers and the ease of use is something which makes me give the printer full marks on functionality and design.
