Strengths: Excellent image quality...that matters most

Weaknesses: Pricing is a bit high and no manual controls available

All right...this one is a winner when it comes to digital cameras which are compact and offer high quality images. In fact, each time, the Canon IXUS 90 IS manages to amaze me with its versatile image quality and surpasses my expectations. The size is very comfortable and you don’t mind handing this camera on your belt the entire day. Other than that, I do miss the rounded edges of Olympus but then, the outward look hardly makes any difference!

The pricing of course pinches a bit and I tend to look around for a bargain and wish that Canon would price it a bit more conveniently for the consumers. Other than that, the features are just enough for an automatic camera and manage not to confuse the easygoing photographer too much. A perfect holiday camera which is fast and does not miss any of the shots which can grace your album and make you smile! In fact, The IXUS 90 is one of the better cameras from Canon and puts the company squarely on the map.

The only reason you would NOT buy the Canon IXUS 90 IS is if you are looking for more manual contract and would like to play around with your photo-taking skills a bit. The built-in software manages to give a pretty good outcome to users especially with image stabilization and face recognition though the latter is not really used much. All in all, we can easily rate the canon IXUS 90 IS a close 8.5 on a scale of 10 and just wish that the price tag went down a bit!
