Full Review
After weeks of constant grafting trying to get hold of Nintendos latest masterpeice, the hard work was paid off with extra interest. I rushed home from work that day, desperate to unvail the console and fill the empy space on my desk. After setting up the Wii with ease, taking a couple of minutes, i loaded up my first game. 'The legend of Zelda : The twilight princess'. I was instantly amazed with the quality of everything i had payed a mere £200 for. The Wii remote in my right hand felt so right, and the nunchuck in my left, gave me a sense of extra sensitive control over what was happening in the game.
The wii comes complete with everuthing needed to get started with no problems. The console, a Wii remote, a nunchuck, motion sensor bar, and most importantly, Wii sports is included in the package to get your Wii experience started off instantly. Nintendo also include 2 decent quality alkaline batterys for the Wii remote. The boxed console is literally plug and play material.
All of you Gamecube owners have no need to worry, the great releases for the Cube shall not be wasted. The wii has four internal Gamecube controller ports, along with two slots for origional Gamecube memory cards. The Wii's disk drive takes both Gamecube sized mini disks and Full sized disks for your Wii games.
Nintendo have decided to save their fans from the classic use of memory cards. Inside the Wii they include a 512 MB internal memory for storing all of your saved game data. The Wii however, is not the only part of the console to have an internal memory. The Wii remote has a small ammount of memory for storing you Mii's. The console includes a fun feature for creating your own characters to be included in certain games such as Wario Ware Smooth Moves, Wii Sports and Wii Play. This allows you to build up your own stats for your own personal character, and the fact that it is stored on your own personal Wii remote, allows you to play with your own character on your friends Wii console!
I can guarantee the first time you use a Wii remote you will fall in love with the technology and design that that has been put into it. The Wii remote is much more responsive then you may initially think. It is perfectly in time with every move you make and best of all, has around a half an hour learning curve. Not just does the remote pick up forward backwards and side to side, it will respond to a shake, a twist or even work at different parts of the body. Gameplay is immensly improved thanks to the genius of Nintendo.
The Wii is not graphically advanced unlike the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, however, I cannot praise the Wii enough. its ultra slek design, amazing gameplay and overall fantastic ability to please any gamer no matter what age or gender simply overules any lack of graphical advances which the Wii might have. I would reccomend the Nintendo Wii to anyone looking for gameplay, over graphics and for the extremely low reccomended retail price of just £179.99, with Wii sports included, it is the best bargain of the century!
Well done to Nintendo for introducing us to yet another peice of gaming genius.
