Strengths: Very good quality of video and fairly good quality stills. Reasonably priced product which also has image stabilization and a handy remote control
Weaknesses: Software is not very smart and the image stabilization might stall sometimes

Full Review
The Sony DCR SR60 comes highly recommended by all those who have had a close encounter with HDD handycams. As you might have already figured out that the HDD handycam comes with a 30GB hard drive which is very cool as it lets you get more than 840 minutes of high quality video without having to bother about storage space. You are also likely to capture a lot of video footage with the DCR SR60 as it is very easy to use and has some very neat options such as a high-quality zoom (12x) and the image stabilization feature.

The camera’s video quality output along with the sound is quite good and there is nothing much that you can complain about. The original packaging also includes a remote control which is useful for self videos and adds another dimension to the ease of use of the camera. One of the main problems faced with cameras is their inability to shoot in low-light settings but the DCR SR60 manages to provide passable video and still quality output at this time as well.

Small issues are likely to come to your notice much after you start shooting with the camera and though they are very minor, they should be mentioned here nonetheless. For example, the camera comes with its own editing software which is just about average in usability. the image stabilization feature might not work 100% all the time and sometimes you might not even notice that there is an issue with it. What the camera does score very high on is on the pricing point….excellent quality product for the price it demands.
