One of the biggest advantages of a hard disk drive-enabled camcorder is that you can get rid of the constant hassle of lugging around a batch of tapes to use if you should run out. The Sony DCR SR80 excels in that department for sure but also manages to provide some very high quality images which can make special moments truly memorable. Once you get your hands on the SR80, you are likely to realize the other benefits of the camcorder.

For example, the SR80 has an excellent battery life. So much so, that it can make you forget about spare batteries all together. Apart from that, the resolution of the camera is very good and the video can further be enhanced with the help of the really powerful zoom which is both fast and does not turn images grainy at all. The sound captured is also good as is the usability of the camera. You can get around to it even if you are new to it as it not intimidating at all and the features are quite easy to follow and implement.

If the SR80 is your first camcorder, you be trifle taken aback with the price.
