Strengths: Stable, reasonable speed, versatility

Weaknesses: Software package needs more integration

Installation under Windows XP can create some instability issues.Presto Manager 8 software under XP causes program to crash when saving to file in pdf format. Installation of epson software for scanner failed with error. Under Windows Vista, no problems encountered with installation and all programs provided eg. Presto works fine with stability. Performance of scanner under 300 dpi for documents is good. Document feeder excellent. Manual double sided scanning can be performed ontop of scanner glass. The scanner scans documents in reasonable time with almost no warmup time required. Image quality is excellent. Light weight and reasonable size proportions sit well in a normal spaced desk. Some integration with software would be welcomed. You can use either the Presto add on program or scan directly via Epson scanning software. I found Epson's software in particular yielded better scans.
