Weaknesses: A little cumbersome due to shape; mounting fiddly

We purchased a TOM TOM 910 in San Francisco on holidays in January. We found it totally indespensible during our drives around California and Nevada. The device was only confused once which was due to a new bypass around Carson City but it quickly adjusted. One of its strongest features was the ability to find individual shops as they are all in the device.

The unit also saved our bacon in LA when we were there on Martin Luther Kings birthday. We just happened to be driving down MLK drive on that day only to find roadblocks. We asked Tom Tom to get us out of there and away from MLK Drive and she did.

Owning a GPS for the driving tourist I beleive is a must and to top it off a safety device as well. How many times have you made an erratic turn to prevent getting lost? This action is fraught with danger. With the TOM TOM, all this is all avoided as clear warnings are given well before a turn and it advises you what lane to be in after that turn to get you ready for the next move. Addtionally if you miss the turn, no problem, the device will have you new directions within seconds to get you back on track.

The device saves on a lot of arguments and it is much cheaper than a divorce!
