Does nothing for me: Midnight Poison

Strengths: Promises many good things

Weaknesses: Delivers nothing

Sequels are rarely good. This is like a thumb rule not only for the movie industry but also for just about anything. Take for example Midnight Poison by Christian Dior….a sequel to their bestseller fragrance Poison….which is a disappointment of sorts. The perfume runs an excellent campaign and I have a feeling that many old-time fans of Poison might just buy the perfume without really checking it out which is a shame as they are going to be feel quite let down.

Apart from being a poor ghost of its illustrious ancestor ( I know I am sounding quite dramatic, but this did seem like an apt description of the perfume!), Midnight Poison is little else. Some reviewers even feel that the perfume resembles another popular perfume named Angel in spirit and thus it cannot be called a true Christian Dior classic. There is no strong sense of individuality in the perfume which is the hallmark of Poison.

In fact, Midnight Poison is not the first spin-off from the original and none of the other three have been successful. I think it is time for Christian Dior to stop selling poorly developed perfume under the Poison sub-brand anymore. If you think my review is a bit harsh on Midnight Poison, do try and take a whiff of it when you visit Sephora next….and let me know if I struck the right chord!
