Impressive only for some: Diamonds from Armani

Strengths: Unique, distinct, well balanced fruity tones

Weaknesses: Not a head turner, feels slightly aged

Somehow the name of the perfume (Emporio Armani Diamonds) and the combination of tones sound as if they just cannot go together. It takes a genius like Giorgio Armani to turn it around into a style statement! Sure, raspberry and lychee is something you would expect in your milk-shake and not in the perfume you would wear on a date but Diamonds turn this theory on its head and gives us a potent mix which can be carried off well by someone who has confidence and panache!


The primary tones of Diamonds are not sweet and that is something you must know before you decide not to buy the perfume. Diamonds does have the disadvantage of not smelling very fresh and young but then it has a timeless appeal to it thanks to the vanilla tones which never really goes out of fashion. Diamonds packaging is like its name suggests…facets cut on the bottle to reflect the perfume inside….but the perfume is not which can be written off at one go.

The main thing is that Diamonds is not made for everyone…you have to really have a taste for fruity fragrance to appreciate this combination of top fruity notes which come and rest on some very unique floral ones. If you are looking for a different perfume, then Diamonds is worth a try but don’t expect heads to turn…as it does not really impress everyone.
