A printer worth ignoring: The HP Photosmart C4385

Strengths: Long list of features promised by HP. Dirt cheap.

Weaknesses: Large printer with very average output. Not even worth the low price tag!

A low-priced photo printer is every digital artist's dream and the C4385 seems to have been created to service this category. HP certainly has an edge on pricing with this product and the catalogue offers more than just photo-printing…in fact it offers scanning and faxing as well and that makes the C4385 too good to be too true. If you are already whipping out your credit card and trying to check the pricing of the printer all at one go…then STOP!

The HP Photosmart C4385 is just an unfulfilled promise. The printer might list many features and sport a price tag which has consumers rubbing their eyes with disbelief. It does not meet any of the promises and the quality of the printer continues to disappoint with each subsequent print-out. The C4385 is also a very large printer and is likely to take up almost half of your desk space.

The only justifiable reason for you to buy this printer is if it is going to be used in limited version and you are happy to use a sub-standard printer which 'might' do the job right. I would recommend you to look around other printers which might cost a bit more but offer a much better output. on a scale of one to ten, I would rate the HP Photosmart C4358 a below average 4 on 10…goes on to show that it isn’t all that smart after all!
