Strengths: A good daily perfume with a reasonable price tag and fairly good staying power
Weaknesses: Too common and not a perfume that is likely to attract the younger generation
Rating
Overall satisfaction   Good

If you are looking for a daytime fragrance to wear to work then Rive Gauche is worth a try. This perfume has been around for a while (over three decades so more than you and me!) and continues to retail both online and in stores which a good deal of success. The trademark black and turquoise circles design is very interesting and though some might consider the design unusual for a perfume bottle, it manages to work to the advantage of the perfume.

If you are new to the fragrance, you might like to become familiar with the aromatic tones which dominate the perfume. Apart from the floral tones, Rive Gauche also has enticing tones of oak moss and the oriental tone of sandal wood. It is these tones which gives the perfume a warm feeling which never goes out of fashion. Rive Gauche is an appropriate perfume for all age groups and this fact lends it a universal appeal.

Price wise, Rive Gauche is a reasonably priced perfume and can easily be used for regular wear. In fact, women who have used Rive Gauche from their early years continue to be ‘faithful’ to the perfume. The fact that the perfume is a high quality product from the house of Yves Saint Laurent, also adds value to the fragrant offering. However, the opaque bottle does leave you guessing about the perfume level in the bottle but it is just one of the things which one learns to figure out by feeling the weight of the bottle!

Hi
I have been wearing the Eau de Parfum since my 16th birthday in 1976. It is the only perfume on the market that does not make me sneeze. Even the Eau de Toilette makes me sneeze as does the substitute recently released - Eau de Toilette Intense. If anyone knows where I can get the Eau de Parfum I would be thrilled to hear from you.
