Strengths: Very good image quality which is supported by a superb technology. Image preview, image stabilization and excellent build. Meant for professionals.

Weaknesses: Need to know how to use manual controls.

The term Evolt sounds more like revolt to me and I am quite intrigued to check out the Olympus Evolt E510 which is an upgrade from a previous Olympus camera and is designed to meet the shortcomings of the E500. The Evolt E 510 is housed in the standard casing for most digital SLR cameras and offers a very comfortable fit onto most palms. The E510 is designed to be a professional photographer's dream camera.

Olympus's good understanding of digital cameras helps in giving the Evolt E510 a significant edge over competitors. The easy to use viewfinder, preview options of images and significant speed of the camera results in very smooth operations. In fact the beauty of the Evolt E510 is not what is outside the camera but what is inside the camera…technology which results in some really amazing images and clarity which can make average images shine.

With such good features, it is not surprising that the Olympus Evolt E 510 is not cheaply priced and that is something which you just have to live with. As E 510 is a professional camera, there are many accessories which are available for it and the quality of your images is restricted only by your imagination. The image stabilization feature is also something worth checking out and the only reason you should not buy the Evolt E 510 is if you are not too comfortable with manual controls.
