The Caplio R7 from Ricoh is a very interesting camera

Strengths: Very good wide screen, nice looking, compact design

Weaknesses: Images have jagged ends which don’t look good, brand not very well known

So the Nikons and the Canons of the photography world do not impress you too much! Then its time to check out a camera which is definitely not ordinary and has the looks of a designer camera with its large lens extension and a zoom which puts even the most professional cameras to shame. If you still haven’t figured out the name, then I would like to enlighten you…it is the Ricoh Caplio R7 which has one of the best wide angle lens I have ever seen on a standard camera.

The ability to stand out in a crowd comes at a cost and the Ricoh Caplio R7 is not cheap by any standards. Small issues like a images with some jagged ends also comes into play when evaluating the camera and that might put perfectionists off the scent of Ricoh Caplio R7. The camera is small and handy and does manage to be a good travel mate but with limited manual functions, you might not be able to choose the Caplio R7 over and above the better quality cameras available.

The Caplio R7 also suffers from low user knowledge as it is not as well known as the other brands we mentioned earlier and thus might loose out on potential sales. Personally, I am happy with the Ricoh Caplio R7 since it was given to me as a gift but if I had to venture out to buy it myself, I would stick to the better known brands and might not be so adventurous on my own steam.
