Strengths: Long talk time, good feature list, 3G functionality and a very reasonable price tag

Weaknesses: Screen is a bit too compact, limited memory

The slim design of the Z170 almost makes the phone look a bit unnatural but is something which makes the phones quite light. Though the screen feels slightly cramped, the Samsung Z170 is a bargain for the money you pay for it! simple to use, the Z170 is fantastic on the battery front with good talk time and though it has some really silly quirks such as not reading first names in the directory, it manages to be a phone which you are likely to enjoy for a couple of years at a stretch.

It might be a mistake to consider the Z170 as an entry level phone as it is one of the better, smaller 3G phones around. The video streaming is decent, phone camera is also not bad and it is at this time you begin to admire the fact that the compact phone (with its somewhat compact screen) from Samsung is quite a smart phone. the Z170 comes with added features such as an interesting screen saver ( a bit like the jumping frog in Nokia but a bit more innovative), good syncing features with Outlook and internet connectivity, provided you are motivated enough to make a go at it.

With so many features, the Samsung Z170 is extremely affordable and that makes it a good phone to buy. Sure, it is not perfect…it does not let you read messages too conveniently, it gives you the occasional issue with low memory, but that does not shake the fact that the Z170 is a good phone to have. So if you are looking for a really light phone which does not cost an arm and a leg…then the Samsung Z170 is the one for you!
