Cheap but not bad! The Motorola C168

Strengths: Sleek, good battery life and voice quality

The Motorola C168 literally costs less than a good meal and that means that it is really one of the cheapest mobile phones you are going to find on the racks. The C168 might be very cheap, but it does manage to deliver value to the user as it comes with a good battery life which makes it a good second phone with decent talk time as well. Though Motorola is not my favorite brand when it comes to mobile phones, I just cannot resist the excellent price tag that the C168 sports and decide to give it a test drive.

The good thing about low pricing is that it brings down your expectations to a large extent and with very low expectations; you enjoy what ever you get! The slim Motorola C168 continues to impress me with its voice quality ( I was expecting it to die on my any moment) and it had me checking the battery life every few hours to see if it was still holding on. To my surprise, it did and I am quite happy to give the phone a heads up when it comes to value for money.

Expecting anything more than general calling is too much to ask for since the C168 is really slow on getting text messages across. This is a bit surprising since I am using the same old network as before and thus the issues are likely to be phone-related rather than network related. Barring calling and texting, there is nothing much that you can do with the C168… except admire Motorola for making a decent phone for such a cheap price!
