The Pearls from BlackBerry have been pretty successful on the premise that they are slimmer than the traditional BlackBerries and do not sacrifice any features in their sleeker avatar. The Pearl 8110 in fact, goes a few steps ahead and offers Sat Nav features which is a must for travelers. The Pearl 8110 does not change much from the original Pearl phones but if you are new to the series, you might like to know that only the QWERTY keypad is a bit shrunk wrapped for easy usage.

Push email, the core competency of BlackBerries continues to shine as a feature in the Pearl 8110 and gives you some really good connectivity options for email as well as the internet. The 8110 might have done even better with some entertainment option on-board but it does not even pass muster since there is no FM radio to it either. The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 sports a simple 2 mega pixel camera which is a poor performer in all honesty….since RIM has all the other features done so well, it might be time for them to look into adding better add-ons to their new phones.

Missing 3G reduces the speed of internet connectivity on the Peal 8110 but that is likely to be addressed in upcoming models quite soon. Though the look of the phone has improved fantastically from previous models, we feel that still some improvements can be made when it comes to the key pad ( quite slippery as of now) and though the 8110 is really a cool phone to have…we would still recommend the new versions which have faster internet download speeds!
