Strengths: Nice player design, large screen display, multiple viewing options

Weaknesses: 16GB is not enough for video, over-priced

The iPod Touch looks too much like the iPhone and it takes me a few minutes to realize that this touch screen device is actually just a music and video player. Once the realization sets in, I am good to go with the Touch as it promises to provide me with unbridled entertainment at phenomenal speed and quality. Of course, be ready to shell out a pretty penny for this little devil and no luck of the price going down on this one just yet!

As the name suggests, the Touch from Apple is a touch screen based music and video player which comes with 16 GB data space. Though it might be sufficient for music playbacks, many users realize that for video, the 16 GB is just not enough. Other additions like Wi-Fi, Email facilities and the really large screen makes the iPod well worth a second look. The only thing missing is the phone!

So the big question is…should you buy the iPod Touch? You can if you are a big fan of Apple and need to get your hands on the latest iPods or you can give it a miss and just buy the iPhone which includes most of the features as shown in the Touch. The choice is yours but the high price tag is likely to most people think twice. The iPod Touch feels more like a stop gap solution to get the maximum out of the product design of the iPhone and is quite likely to make a quiet exit.
