Strengths: ELECTROLUX, DISHLEX & WESTINGHOUSE DISHWASHERS: RECALL SERVICE AS FAULTY AS DISHWASHER
Weaknesses: As a stand alone machine, it tends to tip forward when not using a bracket that may not be of any help if using a granite bench top.

Full Review
Manufacturing fault. A wire connector within the appliance may over heat and cause a "FIRE" or melting of PLASTIC components within the control panel.

RECALL SERVICE AS FAULTY AS DISHWASHER.
Waited up to 2-3 weeks for a contractor hired by ELECTROLUX to check my diswasher. The contractor found the dishwasher as one that could catch FIRE. I was told a replacement would be sent out in a week or two at most.
I am now in week 7-8 and still waiting on replacement. I was promised a replacement last week, however a phone call this morning has only confirmed I am on a waiting list with a "HOPE" to have a replacement by this week.
Hmmm. same as last weeks response. I am not able to get a confirmed day or time. Meaning I need to juggle my week to suit their "POSSIBLE" dilivery.
I find myself on the big company lets send the client in cirlces trip, I didn't pack for. The receptionists was very nice however and could not help me any further. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket and win enough to buy another one before I get satisfaction.
Electrolux get your act together, I bet new orders are making their way out real quick!!!

I completely agree with this review - I bought the same model in Feb 08. It tips forward when both shelves are loaded (there is not enough room for us to put in brackets. It is also very noisy, I wish we had our old Vulcan Dishlex back. However, there is far worse to come! Upon purchasing it, I discovered through Choice Mag that it was subject to a recall for faulty wiring in the control panel. I rang Electrolux, a tech came out, took a look at the side of the door & confirmed the fault had been fixed (prior to sale) as indicated by a pen mark on the side of the door. Approx 4 months later, the control panel catches fire. Nothing major, just smoke and the major inconvenience of having a kitchen covered in fine white powder from our kitchen fire extinguisher. Oh yes, my husband was out at the time and me & my 9 year old son went into panic mode thinking our kitchen was about to go up in flames. The fire brigade kindly attended and safely removed the offending dishwasher. I now have a major clean up to do in my kitchen and I have no dishwasher. But thankfully, we were home when it happened and not asleep either, I dread to think what might have happened otherwise.
