Strengths: Well spaced keypad and screen, nice looking phone

Weaknesses: Sounds terrible

The E830 is a phone which has had mixed reactions from users and though it looks quite promising, it falls short in key areas such as call quality and overall sound effect of the phone. The E830 comes in a slider phone version which should be treated with care as it is not very sturdy and might decide to give in any time. Other than that, the E830 does offer a good sized screen which promises to let you watch interesting videos and play games.

The talk time of the Samsung E830 is good if not impressive and users can rely on the fairly long standby time it offers. The pricing of the phone is definitely higher than the value it offers and this does not make it a smart purchase. There are multiple connectivity options available for users but all this falls short when you experience the low phone volume. Avoid trying to fix it with tips published online or you may up end up loosing some functionality or the other.

With so many good phones from Nokia, HTC, BlackBerry etc doing the rounds, there is no reason for anyone to settle for phones like the E830. Even in the entry-level phones, you can choose a better phone from Samsung if you are sold on it but the E830 should be avoided purely for the poor sound quality it offers. Wake up Samsung…people buy phones to talk on them…not just how they look!
