Trying to push a bad camera with excellent zoom features

Strengths: Zoom settings are excellent. Camera looks quite good as well

Weaknesses: Image quality is substandard

It is difficult to pass a verdict on the Olympus SP 560 right away. The camera shows a lot of promise as it has gone through various levels of research and development at Olympus research centre and one can just hope that it has managed to get rid of the problems which were there in the previous models of this series. The SP 560 is quite well designed and that acts as an attractive proposition to users.

The Olympus SP 550 UZ has a very good wide angle proportion which is enviable but even with this advantage; the SP550 does not manage to offer the desired results and that works in the major disadvantage of the camera. Other than that, the SP 550UZ lets you down with the slow speed which can be a real pain when you are trying to click in quick shots.

Though the price is still on the more pocket-friendly side, it does not make a lot of sense to buy the camera since it manages to look great without delivering any good results. The SP 550 UZ gets a thumbs down and is also a good warning for those people who get very impressed with just the specs of the camera….it is also necessary to see the test shots before you get go ahead and buy any camera as good photos is what matters in the long run.
