Strengths: Touch screen features, large screen, flashy looking

Weaknesses: Images just don’t make the cut

The Sony Cybershot DSC T200 is my third digital camera and the only one which has managed to remove the one problem which was common to all the previous ones….slow speed. I did not have to wait the customary few seconds. However, that was not my reason for buying the DSC T200….I was really taken in by the large display screen that it sported and no other camera had the same screen size in this category.

Don’t think that the large screen is meant just for display purposes though. The Cybershot DSC T200 is a few steps ahead when it comes to technology and it sports a touch screen through which you need to operate your camera. Though it looks quite intelligent, users not used to touch screen might get a bit tired after the novelty wears off. The DSC tries hard to create a fan following with these design pointers, but does not manage to impress for more than a few minutes.

The really depressing factor about the DSC T200 (well, maybe depressing is bit of a strong word to use…but could not find an alternate), is that the image quality is really not up to the mark. Such a cool looking camera promises a lot to users but falls flat when it comes to delivery. It is with these points in mind that we realize that good things do not necessarily come in small packages. I would not recommend the DSC T200 to anyone and would recommend looking for a camera which looks a lot less flashy but delivers good quality output.
