Weaknesses: Why does Olympus charge so much?

There is not much difference on the outside between the Olympus Mju 790 SW and the Mju 795 SW and you can pretty much get confused between the two models (I did). On closer inspection, the Mju 790 is slightly less powered than the 795 and also slightly lower priced as well. However, to the end user who is likely to use this camera for standard recreational photography, it does not make much of a difference at all.

If you are new to the Mju series, it is nice to know that the camera comes in a very unique styling which is young and smart and comes in colors which are outstanding. The pixel strength of the camera stands at 7.1 megapixel which is not too bad either. The fact that 10 mega pixel camera are now available for a bit more money plays against the Olympus Mju 790 and is something worth considering.

What comes as a bit of a surprise is that the Mju 795 is priced at a significantly higher price which should have been the case and Olympus really takes a lot of advantage of its growing popularity in the digital world to cash on with higher prices than other competing brands. The Mju 790 is designed to meet the requirements of most users looking for a compact camera with ergonomics which works in its favor…does not matter if it costs a few bucks more….it is well worth the price and the photographs prove it.
