We bought a Werheim vacuum cleaner around 6 years ago and today it died after years of problems. We have had the cord replaced, the electronic head died around 2 years ago, smoke coming out of the machine, just to mention a few - it is a piece of junk. We paid $800 at the time, was told how fantastic it is - keep taking it back to the shop and they keep saying "how unusual it is, to have so many problems" . All I can say is stay away.

The wand was my first challenge, ( i have been stooping down as it just won't stay in place, seperating wand fron machine BIG CHALLENGE !
Powerhead sceising , difficult to manouvre around on carpet.................I am currently researching a new one , I just hope I get a bit of trade -in , I wouldn't give it away,,,,,,,

We have had one for about 5 years without problems until the last year or so. We have been fairly rough with it though. The power head is the best thing about it. We are shopping around for a new one. A friend at work as a Kirby and she swares by it.

We have had our sem 1200 model for 10 good years. It has never let us down always done a good job of any floor surface. I have not used it for shampooing the carpet for a long time & now can' t find the instructions. So I will have to do it hopefully by memory. Anyone out there got the instructions?

Gayle, finding the instructions for that model is like finding a needle in a haystack unfortunately, but memory always serves me correctly, so I hope it does for you too.

Hi, I have bought a SEM 1200 and had it nearly 10 years now. I have had absolutely no problem with it except with one of the connections. Actually I have just broke it and am looking for a spare part. Anyway, to help Gayle out, I have actually still got the instructions. If you see this, maybe I could send you a copy.
