WHAT IS THE DIFF BETWEEN 40 AND 60 OTHER THAN GB. I WAS TOLD THAT 40 GB'S DON'T PLAY PS 1 AND PS 2 GAMES ONLY A 60 WILL. IS THIS CORRECT ?

This is only partly correct.

The 40GB version can't play PS2 games, but can play PS1 games. The 60GB on the other hand can play both PS1 and PS2.

In addition (these aren't exact), the 60GB has more memory slots such as SD, MMC and 4 USB ports. 40GB only has the 2 USB ports.

60 and 80Gb can play PS2 and PS1 games. They're pretty hard to find. I've been looking everywhere and am thinking of ordering from www.cheapps3.com.au as they have 80Gb advertised as in stock and they're an Australian site.

I personally wouldn't get a 80GB unless the Australian merchant stood by their product and provided a warranty.
