Can this device be used to record notes while driving or with background noise eg wind or rain. does this device record a voice file and then translate the audio file into a word document or similar ?

I work in the field and need a notetaker which can cope with less than ideal recording conditions. I often record information as I'm driving along, so I need a device which can differentiate between what I'm trying to record and the background noise associated with driving.

Hi Merv, the model selected by you is no longer available so you can try and check out www.myshopping.com.au/PR--312139_Olin_OL_MNT101_Mobile_Mini_Note_Taker which is a nifty piece of equipment but might not have the high quality of noise cancellation as you are looking for. For specific Sony products, you can also check out the Sony Australia web site and see if it is any help.
