Question about an Andi MPK1-14ER Portable Air Con

Category: Question about Air Conditioners
Posted by: 29-Jan-2009
Hi there. Just bought and setup a brand new Andi MPK1-14ER portable air con as it's currently about 40 degrees indoors at my place. As far as I'm aware I've set it up correctly but it's acting rather strangely. I've got the temp set to the minimum, which is 17 degrees, and the fan on medium. For the most part though, the air con blows out hot air only... then all of a sudden I hear the refrigeration kick in and the fan drop back to minimum and it will start blowing cool air for a while. Then it will stop and go back to the hot air thing.
Shouldn't it just stay blowing cool air if that's what it's set on? I really hope I didn't get a dud as it's way too hot to cart this thing back to the store.
Cheers..

Aaron

Are you sure you're mode is set on cool? because there is a heating function as well: www.myshopping.com.au/PR--306423_Andi_MPK1_14ER_Portable_Refrigerated_Air_Conditioner You should maybe contact the merchant for more support regarding this product and please consult the manual

Yeah, it's set on cool. I figured out that if I set the temp to about 20, it stays cool.. it's as if it can't handle trying to get the temp down to 17. Strange... but then everything's a little strange in a heatwave.
