Hi Dawn, if you do buy the Nintendo DS it will work in the UK until you need to recharge it :) From general knowledge, I know that the UK sports a 220-240V socket and the US has 110V which means that your US DS Lite will fry if you just do a straight plugin using a normal adapter. I think you will need a transformer to do your dirty work if you can find one that is.

Hi Dawn, I bought a monitor in the US and tried to make it work in the UK and had to lug around a heavy transformer with me through out the trade show. If you are not going ot be very mobile, then it does not matter where you buy the electronic item from, but if you are going to move around...avoid buying it from US and taking it to the UK. I remember buying the transformer in UK for about GBP 70 which is quite expensive and all the price advantage that you have from buying in US is actually wiped off and you end up inviting additional headache! So my recommendation from you would be avoid this hassle!
