I just rang Kmart and found out that it does not get a $200 water rebate on it...they knew nothing else - very helpful little people they have working there :o)

What do you expect from K-Mart? Do you really think that K-Mart staff are going to have in depth product knowledge of washing machines like staff at a story such as Harvey Norman or Retravision?

Also these appliances being sold at K-Mart are all made in an anonymous factory and have a variety of B grade brand names slapped on them. If you have any concerns stick to a well known brand name that will have a network behind them.

I have just seen this washing machine advertised at Kmart and wondered if it is any good and what this rebate you are talking about is. I had a look for water rebates and can't find anything. Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction? I'm in Victoria. Thanks!

Just did a quick search on net and found that there is a govt rebate available in Qld and NSW. It seems that in Qld the rebate is only available for frontloaders with a 4 star rating and they cost on average $1500.

Oops Silly me. Just checked the KMart catalogue and yes the Onix does have a 4 star water rating. So you would get a rebate if you are in Qld. Wow seems too good to be true. I am in Vic and I don't think there is a rebate for washing machines.
