Hi Bob, Intel is the manufacturer and Pentium and Celerons are two families of products by Intel. he key difference between Pentium and Celeron is their performance and there is no prizes for guessing that Celeron is the weaker performer. Due to this difference in performance, the pricing of Pentiums tend to be higher as well. Celeron processors are OK with PCs which need low level of processing power and Pentiums are a must for anything which needs high-end computing. I noticed that there were many wacky explanations of this question in other forums but no one really caught on to the simple differences between the two. While upgrading from desktop to laptop, ensure that you buy the latest config so that you do not have a situation where it becomes obsolete quickly. This is important since laptops have a limited ability for component upgrades which are easily possible in desktops. A good laptop worth considering is www.myshopping.com.au/PU--258773219_Sony_Vaio_CR_Series_14_1_Laptop_2_1GHz_3GB_RAM_250GB_HDD_Blue

The difference between the two is more on their performance. Intel, i admit the price is way higher compared to celeron but the thing is celeron tends to run slower compared to intel. If you want to have a computer which can do anything for you then its better if you choose intel. By the way you can acquire such equipments at this site www.trvidcom.com.au/

Hi Bob,

Celeron and Pentium Processors are two of Intel's best selling CPUs. Intel is a manufacturer of this two processors. Pentium Processors are made from the original Pentium while Celeron Processors are more or less the same as Pentium but the it has a wide variety of speeds.
