My Sansui recorder records blank when I use the timer!

I record in HDD mode and the machine is definitely recording and shows in the menu but it shows as a black screen. This seems strange as when I make a normal recording I have no problem. Another strange thing is that when I am setting the details for the recording, in the date it shows the wrong day of the week,that is the day after the day of the month. Also I felt it was strange that it doesn't indicate the station that I have set it on but maybe that is as it should be! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Brian.

Have you serviced this recorder? Sansui is a cheap brand you know? Have you read the manual? Once you answer these questions then come back and ask. Let me know how it goes.
