This is not a Full HD TV. Its native resolution is only 1366 x 768. If its picture quality is good, that is a reasonable price. A full HD TV can display all 1920 x 1080 resolution. You need this full resolution to see all that is offered by a Blu-ray box. If you are happy with 1366 x 768 (which should be good for DVD and upto 32' size) then go for it. But I would think a 42' plasma at the same resolution might be a little cheaper (try a Panasonic Plasma). Be warned, if you buy a 1366 x 768 TV at too large a size (above 32') you may regret a few years from now when you can see what a full HD TV can do at the same price, or even cheaper. I just bought this TV, for me the price difference between a 42" 1080i and this one is about $700. I got it for $1099 include delivery from Myer. and it is very good so far... Remember to view full HD for a 42" you need to be viewing about 6 feet from the screen, will you be viewing this close ? Most people view TV from about 10 feet....otherwise it is too far to see the details, you are paying money for nothing...
I would rather invest the $700 to a bank, a few years later you can buy another FULL 42" 1080i HDTV !!! and you will have two TVs.... Posted by: 22-Jul-2008
