DYSON VACUUM - LOW QUALITY

Category: User experience of Vacuum Cleaners
Posted by: 15-May-2008
Customer beware of dyson's product. they are low in quality. i bought dc08 turbo and it only lasted for 4 years. the customer service blame me for not washing the filter at least once a month (the manual book suggest only to wash every 6 month). since the warranty only last for 2 yrs, i have to pay $180 to get the machine fixed. 15/5/08

I feel the same way. the same thing happened to me.when i rang up the service department , they told me that i should of washed the filter out too.My machine died altogether, and when i asked for a quote over the phone,on how much it cost to fix it, because it was one year over warranty, the bloke that worked for dyson told me that he would get sacked if he quoted over the phone, or if he even told me what he thought was wrong with the machine. How ridiculous is that.It was going to cost a fortune just to look at it, to tell me what was wrong with the vaccum it self, and to give me a quote. So I cut my loses and traded it in for an ordinary vaccum cleaner. No fancy thrills at all, and has lasted me just as long if not longer.Im still using it now.Dont bother getting it fixed. Why would anyone want to bother with a company that threatens to sack their workers if they are only willing to help their customers in the first place! I will never buy another one again!Save your money for something else, there are plenty more out there on the market that can work well. Have you ever had a look at product review.com.au.They might give you an idea what good buys are out there,as it is the consumers reports that will tell the test of time. We are the ones using the machines and give our own epinions on what we think about the appliances in which we use. Good luck with what ever you decide to do.And remember you dont have to spend a fortune to buy a good appliance. Dyson are very exspensive when they only last a couple of years. My other vaccum I purchased cost me a fraction of that price and it is well into its third year.Which is how long my dyson lasted!
